Indianapolis - When 1996 Indianapolis 500 winner Buddy Lazier takes the green flag this Sunday in the 2005 Indianapolis 500, the sidepod of his red and black Chevrolet powered Byrd Brothers/Panther Racing Indycar will be carrying the Jiffy Lube® brand logo along for the ride.

Lazier qualified the #95 Jonathan Byrd's Cafeteria/ESPN 950 Panther Racing car in the 9th starting position at an average speed of 226.353 miles per hour. This will be Lazier's 13th start in the Memorial Day Classic.

Panther Racing co-owner John Barnes expressed his excitement with the addition of Jiffy Lube for this event.

"We have worked closely over the years with Jiffy Lube on many projects and we are very excited to represent them in this new capacity," said Barnes. "Jiffy Lube provides fast, reliable automotive service to millions of customers each year and we hope we can provide a fast, reliable racecar during the Indianapolis 500 and give the Jiffy Lube brand a chance to celebrate in victory lane."

"Partnering with Panther Racing for the Memorial Day Classic is an exciting opportunity for Jiffy Lube and we will be cheering for Lazier, along with the rest of the racing fans," said Jiffy Lube President Larry Burch.
