Outstanding Franchisees Honored at 27th Annual Jiffy Lube International Convention & Trade Show

HOUSTON - Bill Shockley of Shockley Management, Inc. and John and Maude Kenyon of Ventura Lube, Inc. were named the Eastern and Western Division Jiffy Lube® Franchisees of the Year at the 27th annual Jiffy Lube International Convention & Trade Show last week in San Antonio. The five-day conference included an evening honoring outstanding franchisee achievements across the company's network of more than 2,200 service centers in North America.

Shockley Management, Inc., based in Snow Hill, Md., and Ventura Lube, Inc., headquartered in Ventura, Calif., were recognized for their innovation and leadership in training, employee relations, customer service and community service.

"Every day, Jiffy Lube franchisees are helping to set the industry standard for high-quality preventive maintenance and customer satisfaction," said Kevin Lyng, general manager of North America operations. "Bill Shockley and John and Maude Kenyon are truly first-class operators."

In addition to the Franchisee of the Year awards, more than 200 other awards were presented in San Antonio.

Scott Washnak, manager of the Hoosier Automotive Services, LLC service center located in Carmel, Ind., received the President's Store Manager Recognition Award for outstanding achievement in training, operations, customer service, and day-to-day business.

Bob Falter of franchisee Multi-Management Group, headquartered in Bel Air, Md., and Kerry Scovill of franchisee USP Group, based in Sandy, Utah, were both awarded the Harold Burney Memorial Award in recognition of their dedication to Jiffy Lube International, as well as their fellow franchisees.

The Arlene Karlson Heart and Soul Award for exemplary community service went to Steve and Cathy Funkhauser of franchisee Fig Bar, Inc. in Richmond, Ind.

Allan Engelmeyer, president of the Jiffy Lube Association of Franchisees (JLAF), presented Jiffy Lube International District Manager of the Year Awards to Eastern Division winner Robert Cowan and Western Division winner Steve Gnerich.

Other awards categories included Customer Satisfaction, Millionaires Club, $2 Million Club, Car Count and Sales Increases, Facilities, Operations, People and Total Vehicles Serviced.

Convention awards, except for those bestowed by JLAF, were presented by Jiffy Lube International Vice President Luis Scoffone and General Manager of North America Operations Kevin Lyng, along with Eastern and Western Division Operations Managers Lenny Lazarofsky and Robb Harling.
